Designed for kids ages birth to 10, this expansive museum is filled with interactive activities and fun that engages their minds, muscles, and imaginations. The organization was founded in 2005 and completed a successful $12.3 million capital campaign in 2006 to renovate the space and open it for public use.
Today, the museum welcomes more than 300,000 visitors each year to its four floors of imaginative fun. Exhibits range from the surreal Noodle Forest to a live, child-sized cafe to a hands-on water lab. While the Museum has a number of permanent exhibits, it also curates many temporary features and hosts international traveling exhibitions. Dinosphere will transport kids back in time where they can roam the Jurassic landscape and interact with one of the largest displays of juvenile dinosaur fossils in the world. Blocks are recognized as one of the most important toys for young children, providing manipulation of concrete objects and stimulating creativity and cognitive skills. Located adjacent to the Climber, the Blocks & Build Space provides blocks of every size and shape to inspire an array of creations. Whether working together on a sprawling group project or intensely focused on building a solitary structure, children learn about the basics of science, math, language arts and more.
